One of the hallmarks of the United Church of Canada is its passion for Social Justice. Social Justice springs forth from the spiritual; people choose to make a difference in the world in a way that is meaningful to them. At Mount Seymour United we are committed to speaking out for and supporting those who are most in need, and whose voices often go unheard. We are involved in our immediate community of North Vancouver, the Downtown Eastside community, and through our affiliation with the United Church of Canada's Mission and Service Fund we are involved in projects around the world.
The Social Justice mandate of the United Church reinforces the idea that our ministry is not just what we do at church, it’s about how we live our lives, how we are active as a church community beyond the walls of our church. Under the leadership of the Mission and Outreach Team, we provide opportunities for hands-on involvement in Outreach Projects, and we also support and encourage the valuable contribution many of our members make in their daily lives - at work, in their neighborhoods and schools, in service to others.
