Choirs for All
Music is the expression of our soul. Every member of our congregation is welcome to participate in choral music. Our choirs perform music from a wide-ranging repertoire, including world and classical music, folk, pop and jazz. All three choirs sing at Sunday services.
Singers: Calling all voices, all ages and stages, from tenor to soprano, alto to bass, even if you don’t know what you are! We’d love for you to join us as we grow into a singing group that is more and more organic to the worshipping community at Mt Seymour. Our Associate Minister and Music Leader, Donna Dinsmore leads Voices. Voices rehearses on Sunday Mornings at 9 am and Tuesdays at 3:30 pm. You are welcome to attend one or both of the practices.
Instrumentalists: Calling all players, all ages and stages, all instruments, from violin to trombone, flute to guitar. Introduce yourself to me, give me a shout on email, let me know who you are, please! I want to integrate you into the musical life of our church.
Community Gospel Choir
Are you a ‘closet’ gospel singer, only belting out those blood-stirring spirituals in the privacy of your car? Our Community Gospel Choir might be just the choir for you. One a month, Marcus Mosely and Dominique Hogan lead the choir in a rousing, roof-raising rehearsal of gospel music, featuring a house band and fabulous guest soloists. Here’s the best part – all voices are welcome, no ongoing commitment is required and music reading is not required. Lyrics and sheet music are available in advance of rehearsals. This is music for music’s sake – for the sheer energy and joy of joining your voice with others in praise and celebration.
The Choir practices one Thursday per month at 7:30 pm and sings at the Sunday service following the practice at 10 am. To be added to our mailing list for updates and reminders of rehearsals, please email email@example.com
Upcoming practices/Sunday services are April 17, 20 - 2014
